Aamani Mango Wood & Cord Dining Chair – Natural

Simple and elegant, we are excited to welcome the new Aamani range into our collection, not least because it combines our much-loved mango wood frame with an entirely new material for nkuku – recycled paper cord handwoven to create a strong and durable seat and back. This classically-shaped piece holds a beautiful story of sustainability and ingenuity, and we particularly love that this versatile and timeless silhouette is made entirely from wood in its various forms. Perfect around a dining table, but equally at home as a simple desk chair. For extra comfort, it comes with a linen seat pad with ties, but can equally be used without. Also available as a counter chair and an occasional chair.

The recycled paper cord is made from long strips of flat paper, twisted to form a rope and then set into coils.The paper cord itself is very strong and durable, with a layer of protective wax to prevent stains. It is then handwoven onto the mango wood frame, which is itself hand-carved using traditional skills. Mango wood is sustainable wood that has a light natural tone with natural variation within the grain. We love working with this material which is a by-product of the mango growing industry in India and repurposing it to give it a new lease of life.

Wipe surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth to remove dust and moisture. Mild soap and water can be used for cleaning but take care not to use excess water as this may damage the finish. Always wipe in the direction of the wood grain.

Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials as this may damage the finish.

The cushion cover is removable, suitable for the washing machine on a delicate wash at 30 degrees. Do not tumble dry and note that the colour may fade in direct sunlight.
