Jute is a great natural material that we love to use as it is a rain-fed crop that has little need for fertiliser or pesticides. It is a natural vegetable fibre that can be spun into strong and durable threads. These baskets are made on pit looms, an age-old technique where makers work with looms fitted into pits. Seated at ground level, they manipulate pedals to weave natural materials into individual designs. This method allows for precise control and intricate patterns, showcasing the skill and tradition embedded in each handmade piece.

To care for your basket, we recommend using a soft-bristle brush to regularly remove any build up of dust. Use a mild soap and water on a soft cloth to wipe away any dirt. Please do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Colour may fade in sunlight. Indoor use only.
